ORIGIN

CRED grew from work in Australia examining civic participation, multicultural representation, institutional influence and social cohesion. Those questions quickly became larger than one country.

Across different democratic contexts, we found a recurring challenge: people are increasingly expected to participate in democratic systems that do not always provide meaningful pathways from participation to influence. At the same time, the international exchange of democratic knowledge remains fragmented.

CRED was conceived to address both problems.

CRED is currently being incubated through Allies in Colour while its international founding structure is developed.
